Genetic Mutations and Disorders

Each of our body’s cells depends on various proteins to be able to function properly. Mutations prevent these proteins from doing their job. A mutation can change a gene’s instructions for making a protein causing that protein to malfunction or to be completely missing. When this happens, a genetic disorder will occur.
