Adobe Systems is opening up access Thursday to its Flash technology on the open screen project, an initiative of the industry by a flash-based single runtime environment for rich content in all devices.

One analyst saw the move as part of a competitive measure against Microsoft’s new Silverlight browser plug-in that could be a formidable rival to blink. But Adobe’s Dave McAllister, director of the stands and open source, said Flash is the largest single environment for content delivery and said partners are very satisfied with the new initiative.
